O-ring is one of the most popular seals used in many industrial sectors. It is a reliable seal in the form of a sealing ring with a circular cross-section. O-rings are made of elastomeric materials such as NBR, H-NBR, FPM (FKM, Viton), Aflas, FFKM (Kalrez), EPDM, VMQ (MVQ, silicone), CR, SBR, NR ACM, PU, but also of other materials, e.g. PTFE.
A wide range of materials allows you to select the appropriate seal for most applications. O-rings are primarily static seals, but can also be used as dynamic seals in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, and also as a rotary motion seal. O-rings owe their popularity to such advantages as:
