ERRE.DI. clamping elements are developed based on over 30 years of experience in designing automation systems, enabling precise positioning and braking of linear systems. ERRE.DI. products offer high clamping force, easy installation, and an excellent price-to-quality ratio. This makes the ERRE.DI. range an excellent choice for anyone seeking effective and comprehensive solutions in the field of clamping and braking elements.

Key features of ERRE.DI. clamping and braking elements

ERRE.DI. products offer a number of highly desirable features that make them an excellent choice for anyone seeking effective and comprehensive solutions in the field of clamping and braking elements. These include:

  • high clamping force with minimal dimensions,
  • easy installation,
  • backlash-free operation of the element,
  • for selected versions, possibility of dynamic braking,
  • excellent price-to-quality ratio.

The aluminum clamp components are hard anodized, while steel elements are nickel-plated, ensuring corrosion resistance. The forces generated by the clamping elements act evenly on the rail, and the contact elements achieve hardness up to 62 HRC. High system efficiency and fast switching time of approximately 40÷60 [ms] make these mechanisms particularly suitable for use in linear motors and machine tools, as well as in various transport, positioning systems, and robotic stations. The wide range of available options can meet diverse customer needs, and for highly specific applications, custom-designed solutions are also available.

What types of clamps does ERRE.DI. offer and how do they differ?

Manual clamp – a simple and reliable clamping element. Turning the adjustable lever (or knob) causes the clamp to tighten on the linear rail or shaft, while self-adjusting jaws ensure even pressure on the contact surfaces.

Manual clamp series:

  • FMN series – designed for mounting on profile linear guides in sizes 15÷65.
  • FMN-M series – designed for mounting on miniature profile linear guides in sizes 9M÷15M.
  • FCMN series – designed for mounting on precision shafts.

FMCE electric clamp - a new product in the ERRE.DI. range. It features more compact dimensions and higher clamping forces compared to competing solutions. This clamp is a bistable element, resulting in high energy efficiency – power is only required to switch its state from open to closed and vice versa. Available for guide sizes 20 and 25.

Pneumatic clamp – provides high clamping force depending on the selected series and size and can be configured as normally open or normally closed, as well as in many other variations depending on the application. These clamps eliminate vibrations and ensure a lifespan of several million cycles. They are also compatible with guides from all manufacturers and are largely dimensionally interchangeable with competing solutions.

Pneumatic clamp series for guides:

  • F series – the most standard clamp – provides high clamping forces with compact dimensions. Designed for profile linear guides in sizes 15÷65.
  • FDP series – when the parameters of the F series are insufficient, the FDP clamp can provide approx. 30–50% higher forces thanks to a double piston and slightly increased width while maintaining the same mounting holes (except size 20). Designed for guide sizes 20÷45.
  • FDPH series – clamping forces are twice as high as those of the F type. This is possible thanks to extended cylinders, allowing the use of stronger springs. Designed for profile linear guides in sizes 15÷55.
  • FDPM and FDI series – these elements provide the highest forces for a given guide size and the highest body rigidity. Thanks to special coating of the clamp jaws, they can function both as a static clamp and a dynamic brake – in the event of a failure, the element automatically clamps onto the guide, stopping the machine. Available for guide sizes 25÷55.
  • FMC series – an economical and most compact pneumatic clamp – these advantages result from the use of only one cylinder with a spring and a single jaw. Clamping is achieved thanks to a floating mounting system, which also ensures no friction between the guide and the clamp when released. Available for sizes 15÷25.

Pneumatic clamp series for shafts:

  • FC series – designed similarly to F-type clamps, providing high forces in compact sizes, allowing installation on standard shafts as well as shafts with longitudinal support. The clamps are interchangeable with solutions from other manufacturers and can be used for shaft diameters from 12 up to 130 [mm].
  • FBS series – a high-force version intended only for end-supported shafts. Provides at least 50% higher forces than an FC clamp of corresponding size. Equipped with dynamic braking function by default. Available for diameters 16, 20, and 25 [mm].
  • FBC series – designed to work with pneumatic cylinders compliant with ISO 15552 or VDMA 6432 standards in sizes 32÷125 (shaft 12 to 32 [mm]). Enables very high forces with compact dimensions of approx. 100 mm length without exceeding cylinder outline. It is also a very cost-effective solution compared to competitors. For sizes 32÷100 it can be used for dynamic braking. For size 125, please contact us individually to determine operating conditions.

What are the main clamp functions?

Type S – normally open. In the absence of air, it remains open; when pressure is applied, it clamps.

Type E – normally open. It does not contain elastic elements, therefore changing its state requires supplying energy each time. Air must be supplied both to open and close the clamp. The absence of elastic elements results in increased durability.

Type M – normally closed. In the absence of power, it remains closed; when pressure is applied, it opens.

Type D – normally closed. Operates like type M but includes an additional boosting function where the clamping force is the sum of spring force and air pressure.

Looking for a pneumatic clamp with dynamic braking function?

We offer ERRE.DI. pneumatic clamps also in versions with dynamic braking. This function is standard in FDPM, FDI, FBS, and FBC (up to size 100). For other clamps, to request a product with dynamic braking, add the letter "F" at the end of the selected product designation.
NOTE! The holding forces generated by such elements are approximately 10% lower than catalog values.
