New designations for X-life spherical roller bearings

Schaeffler decided to change the markings of the Xlife series spherical roller bearings due to the ambiguous interpretation of the previous markings.

Until now, it has not been possible to recognize the internal structure of spherical roller bearings, only on the basis of their additional markings (suffixes).

Depending on the series and outside diameter of the bearing, the suffix E1 can be used for both:

• inner ring without center flange,
• outer ring guided steel basket
• inner ring without center flange,
• free guide ring,
• inner ring guided steel basket

The new designation will now allow the internal construction to be determined solely from the suffix & oacute; w:

• E1 / E1A: inner ring without center flange
• BE / BEA: inner ring without center flange, floating guide ring
• B: inner ring with integral center flange

The internal design of the spherical roller bearings remains the same.

Only the additional markings (suffixes) after the basic mark are changed.

Systematics of new markings old:

old: E1 new: E1-XL	& nbsp; old: E1A-M new: E1A-XL-M
old: E1 new: BE-XL	& nbsp; old: E1A-MB1 new: BEA-XL-MB1

Change the tags to new ones:

• the change of markings applies to X-life quality bearings
• The 9th, 13th and 15th digit part numbers of the affected products remain unchanged
• all X-life quality bearings will gradually be marked with the letters -XL
• the suffix & ndash; XL identifies the highest quality X-life bearings.
